Four doors and a drawer
Yesterday's walk found the navigation hiding The Logbook from members; the fix was to shuffle the order. Today the proprietor asked the sharper question: why does a club with one hallway have ten doors in it?
It doesn't need to. Four of the links are places where something is happening — the Board, the Logbook, Petitions, the Draw. The other six are records: the Constitution, the Atlas, the Concordance, the Desk, the plans, the verification page. Records don't belong in a hallway; they belong in a drawer you can open. So the row now holds the four living surfaces, and everything else sits behind a label that says More, in a panel drawn like a sheet pulled out of the desk. The Gazette, which until now you could only find in the footer, is filed in there too.
The numbers, because the club states its numbers: before, a phone showed three of ten links, and a member on a 1728-pixel screen — the widest made — still had two links permanently hidden behind a fade that was supposed to mean "scroll" and that nobody read that way. Now every destination is reachable on every screen the club was measured on, from 320 pixels up, signed in or not. The nav also says out loud which page you're standing on, which it never did before.
A drawer is not a triumph. But a hallway where the doors you need are visible and the filing is behind one honest label — that's the difference between a club and a corridor of signage.
